REACT DONATES BOOKS TO PERE PLANQUE PRIMARY, JHS AND SENIOR HIGH SCHOOLS IN CAPE COAST

Pere Planque school in Cape Coast on Friday 6th August 2021 received their share of REACT’s School Book support project. The conglomerate school which is part of the OLA College of Education in Cape Coast has so far been the biggest beneficiary of the scheme since its inception in 2020. They received 800 books in total which included 300 titles and 500 reference books in Mathematics, English, Geography, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Economics, Agricultural Science, GCSE and A’ Level past questions, Computer science and children’s reading and activity books.

The Outgoing Headmistress of the conglomerate school Rev. Sister Elizabeth Amoako-Arhen who made the request, presented  the donation on behalf of REACT to the delight of both children and staff. Rev. Sister Elizabeth Amoako-Arhen emphasised the essence of books to the children and encouraged them to cultivate a good reading habit as that will not only make them knowledgeable but will help move them beyond their current level of education. Rev. Sister Elizabeth also urged the authorities to ensure the children gets easy access to the books so they can develop as the nation’s next generation.

 

The Headmistress of the school Rev. Sister Beatrice Hammond thanked REACT and its partners for their generosity and assured REACT that the books will help students sharpen their reading skills as well as achieve their learning outcomes.
