REACT Humanitarian Network

The Teaching Staff and Pupils in the Ayensukrom in the Wassa Amenfi West Municipal Assembly school received their share of the REACT/Usborne Book UK Schools Books Support Scheme. The school which was nominated among some of the most deprived schools in the community is part of a larger community support scheme undertaken by REACT to help revamp under-resourced schools in the region working in partnership with the resident Minister of the Pentecost church in the Baseke region Pastor Isaiah Coker Yankson.

Mr. Ernest Darko, the Headteacher of the school thanked REACT for thinking of them and promised that the donation will achieve its intended objective.

REACT CEO, Prince Osei Akowuah in a remote message said the district and the community schools are worthy beneficiaries because in spite of their challenges, children in the schools continue to demonstrate their passion for reading and general thirst for knowledge. Prince said REACT in conjunction with its partners such as SAGE Publishing, Ofie-Direct shipping UK and Usborne Books UK will work tirelessly to help uplift the educational standard of children in the communities through reading and urged staff to ensure that children will have unrestricted access to the books at all times.
