JOSEPH AKWETEY APPEALS FOR LAPTOP

Meet 24-year-old Joseph Kwasi Akwetey from Ningo who's currently studying Computer Science Engineering in Ghana but needs urgent help. 

Joseph Kwasi Akwetey is from Ningo and is currently studying Computer Science Engineering at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, (KNUST)

in Kumasi, Ghana by kind courtesy of Osei-Kusi foundation (http://oseikusifoundation.org/ ) and REACT Humanitarian Network.  REACT first met Joseph in 2016 during our path-finding mission when he told

us he was orphaned and lives with friends and distant relatives. Joseph told REACT  he had completed secondary school with excellent grades and had been offered a place in the aforementioned university but couldn't 

take the up offer due to lack of financial support. 

Joseph said at the time that he struggled to even feed himself let alone self-sponsor his education at a university. Nonetheless,  he hoped one day someone will

come to his aid to help him realise his dream of becoming a Computer Science engineer. Very touched by Joseph's words, REACT has been 

supporting Joseph with some practical needs but due to limited funds referred him to a generous partner, the Osei-Kusi foundation (OKF, http://oseikusifoundation.org/ )

for assistance who upon assessment agreed to sponsor him. Joseph has since 2018 enrolled at KNUST on his dream course and is doing really well.

However Joseph now needs a laptop as part of his course and OKF like many charities could help support due to limited resources hence, Joseph turned to REACT. Joseph said he sits idle 

during practical sessions of the course while his fellow students with laptops build up their knowledge to his disadvantage

REACT wants to help as we always do but will need help due to limited resources. We need 20 people to donate £20 each to secure a laptop for this

brilliant but needy student. Alternatively we will also welcome a working laptop from anyone who wishes to help.
